I am definitely not as knowledgeable about our topics as many of you but a couple of things from the discussions tonight lead me to think-- Do we need to define by grade level what % of the trimester grade in a subject area comes from summative evaluations and what % from formative evaluations? Also, of that formative work- if corrections or late work is excepted, does it have the same "worth" of that work among the grade level teachers?? And to maybe consider if some teachers are allowing extra credit, consistency on how it's factored into final grade. -- I am just babbling things that I think would create more unity and consistency (like I thought was one of the purposes of moving towards SBR). Hopefully I make sense to someone and don't sound too dumb!!","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"32351910","body":"My personal thought on that is that it needs to be a common practice with a grade level or a department. I would like that consistency.... especially if they are teaching the same course\/subject!!! I think guidelines on homework will need to be provided, but this will be an on-going conversation, and won't be resolved overnight!! :-0)","dateCreated":"1294350796","smartDate":"Jan 6, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"marycooksley","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/marycooksley","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]},{"id":"29836613","dateCreated":"1289243803","smartDate":"Nov 8, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"marycooksley","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/marycooksley","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/ocsddlt.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/29836613"},"dateDigested":1532288207,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Blog about SBR - interesting!","description":"Thank you Mr. Doug Gibson for sending me lots of interesting links related to Standards-Based Reporting (SBR). This was a link from something sent..... it is a blog from a HS Science teacher in Solon. He is humorous but makes sense. His manifesto is interesting -- think about your own philosophy as you read his.... I also read the posts on his blog and they have made me reflect on my own personal beliefs....

\nThough we have not made the decision about what it means to have "mastery" or "meet our expectations" - or how that will impact students if they do not meet our expectation, this might add information to the conversation.
